Pass Happy/Run Happy – Week 7

PASS HAPPY

Tampa Bay vs. Cleveland:  Is this the week that we see what Baker Mayfield can REALLY do?  Well, the Bucs give up the MOST fantasy points to QBs so we’re thinking that the answer might be “yes”.  He’s had moderate success against much tougher defenses.  Somewhere around 300-325 yards sounds about right, and he should have his career high in TDs.  That being said, Jameis Winston should see even more success, even with Cleveland’s defense being on the opportunistic side.  Both QBs are great starts this week.  As for the pass catchers, WRs Jarvis Landry and Mike Evans should be great starts as well as TEs David Njoku and O.J. Howard.  Chris Godwin and DeSean Jackson are also worth plugging in.

Minnesota (@NYJ):  QB Kirk Cousins seems to perform better on the road, and the Vikings run game has been wildly unproductive.  Add in the fact that the Jets’ defense has been spotty against the pass, and this looks like a situation where Cousins throws for 300ish yards again, with multiple scores.  WR Adam Thielen has been virtually unstoppable, and we have a feeling Stefon Diggs has a big game this week.  All three are great starts.  TE Kyle Rudolph represents a fine start, especially in PPR formats.

RUN HAPPY 

Tampa Bay (vs. CLE):  Could this be a situation where both the pass AND run game are happy?  Could be.  Cleveland can’t stop the run and will be without key defenders this week.  Peyton Barber could have one his best efforts of the season.  And make a mental note:  Ronald Jones may prove useful as the season goes on (if the Bucs are eliminated from contention as early as we expect them to be).

LA Chargers (vs. TEN, in London):  While the Titans have been somewhat stingy against the run, they haven’t faced a back like Melvin Gordon yet this season.  Heck, Alex Collins scored twice on them.  Expect Gordon and fellow backfield mate Austin Ekeler to both produce this week.  Gordon could have a huge effort in London.
