PASS HAPPY

LAR @ NOS:  Gotta love these games.  Yes, another “start ‘em if you got ‘em” game.  Both Jared Goff and Drew Brees should easily top 325 passing yards and toss multiple scores.  The main WRs are all great plays, as it looks like Cooper Kupp will make his return.  Sleeper pick here is Tre’Quan Smith for the Saints, who hasn’t done much the past two weeks but put up 111 yards and 2 scores against Washington three weeks back.  Unfortunately the tight ends are non-factors.  If you’re in a bind, Ben Watson could be used in a pinch.  Great Starts:  Goff, Brees, Kupp, Brandin Cooks, Michael Thomas  Good Start:  Robert Woods Sleeper Pick:  Smith  Desperate TE Play:  Watson

GBP @ NEP:  What?  Another one?  Yes, it looks like four of the league’s best offenses are all facing off.  Same deal here, start ‘em if you got ‘em.  Both QBs should easily surpass 300 passing yards and throw multiple TDs.  The WRs, outside of Davante Adams and Julian Edelman are going to be crapshoots, though.  Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison are wild-cards for the Packers, with Marquez Valdes-Scantling also being a potential play.  For the Pats, Josh Gordon could easily break out big time in this game, but comes with risk.  Chris Hogan has dropped off.  And the TEs in this matchup are both very startable.  Great Starts:  Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Adams, Edelman  Good Starts:  Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham  Risky but Worthy:  Cobb, Allison, Valdes-Scantling, Gordon

RUN HAPPY

Washington (vs. ATL):  Adrian Peterson may be a couple years away from collecting Social Security, but for the past month he’s been en fuego.  Minus two stinkers (against IND and NO), he’s been right around (or well over) 100 rushing yards each week.  And when he runs for big yardage, he also scores TDs.  This week, the Falcons and their second-worst rushing D come to town.  AP has been the focus of the offense the past few weeks and will continue to be.  Chris Thompson is back but for now looks to be only operating in spot duty, especially in on passing downs.  Play Thompson at your own risk and only in PPR formats.  Great Start: Peterson  Risky PPR Start:  Thompson

Houston (vs. DEN):  Lamar Miller now has back-to-back games topping 100 rushing yards.  He isn’t doing much as a receiver, but he’s finding the end zone as well.  This week, a Denver defense that has been fairly soft against the run hosts a hot Texan squad.  Alfred Blue still gets a handful of carries, and is worth starting as a flex only in the largest of leagues.   Miller should again top 100 rushing yards and score, and Blue could be good for 40ish yards and score if the series he is in on happens to get to the goal line.  Great Start:  Miller  Desperate Dice Roll:  Blue
