Pass Happy

NEP @ PIT:  Yeehaw folks, start ‘em if you got ‘em.  Both defenses are bend-but-don’t-break and both offenses will move the ball with ease.  It looks like Big Ben is good to go and is a great start when playing at home.  Tom Brady is also a lock for great stats and dare I say it, but Gronk looks to be back on track.  Usual suspect WRs should be started with confidence, with Antonio Brown and Julian Edelman being the best bets.  Great Starts:  Big Ben, Brady, Brown, Edelman, Smith-Schuster

SFO (vs. SEA):  Every season around this time we get to scraping of the bottom of the barrel in terms of no-names producing stats in garbage time.  Best example of this in terms of a quarterback is Nick Mullens.  Kudos to the Niner coaching staff for getting the most out of names like C.J. Beathard and Mullens.  Last time Mullens faced the Seahawks, he went for 400+ and 2 scores.  Not saying he’s going for another 4-burger, but matching last week’s 300+ is certainly possible.  It looks like Dante Pettis is worthy of a start and of course George Kittle is a great start at the TE spot.  Great Starts:  Mullens, Kittle  Good Start:  Pettis

Run Happy

CIN (vs. OAK):  Joe Mixon turned what was a less-than-average matchup last week into 138 total yards, 5 catches and a score last week.  This week’s matchup is much better.  He is a must-start this week.  Gio Bernard flirts with being a decent PPR play but just doesn’t get the snaps.  Mixon is just too good to keep off the field.  Great Start:  Mixon  Bench:  Bernard

LAR (vs. PHI):  The Eagles are having trouble stopping the run and pass right now and their season is likely in the tank with Carson Wentz’s recent injury news.  Add to the mix the fact that Todd Gurley has been outstanding this season (minus last week against the charged-up Bears).  Gurley should easily get back on track this week with 100+ total yards and at least one score.  Keep in mind Malcolm Brown is out so John Kelley might be a decent add if Rams rest starters to close the season. Great Start:  Gurley
